The Weekend Edition #13

Happy Friday! Welcome back to The Weekend Edition. A series where I share a mini medley of ideas and reviews for you to peruse. Think of it as a little dose of joy to start your weekend. Enjoy!

🎥 A Biltmore Christmas on Netflix Screenwriter Lucy Hardgrove (Bethany Joy Lenz) has finally finished her script for a remake of the Holiday classic “His Merry Wife!” just in time to enjoy the holidays…or so she thought. After meeting with the Hollywood producer, he tells Lucy her script is missing one thing: a happy ending, so instead of spending the holidays caroling with her family, Lucy will be heading to Asheville, North Carolina to visit the location where the original movie was filmed, in hopes it will inspire her to write a new ending. While touring the grounds, she accidentally knocks over a magical hourglass and finds herself transported back to 1946. Before she can return to the present, Lucy must make things right or threaten to alter the future forever. A super cute & cozy rom-com to watch while sipping on a warm mug of hot cocoa.

📚 The Most Wonderful Crime of The Year by Ally CarterTwo rival writers receive an invitation they can’t refuse to attend a Christmas house party at the English estate of the most powerful mystery author in the world: Eleanor Ashley, the Duchess of Death. That night, the weather turns – the bridge is out and the phones are down– and the next morning the most famous mystery writer in the world has disappeared out of a locked room three days before Christmas. Now it’s up to these two rivals to become allies if they have any hope of saving Eleanor. With a tagline that reads, “Knives Out gets a rom-com twist in this rivals-to-lovers Christmas romance-mystery,” how could you not pick up this book?! This book was a joy to read. It’s fast paced with quippy dialogue, sizzling sexual tension, and a mystery that’ll have you guessing until the very end. I highly recommend it.

💿 A Philly Special Christmas Party – the boys are back for one last time! Philadelphia Eagles offensive linemen Lane Johnson, Jordan Mailata, and Jason Kelce are back with their third and final studio album filled with Christmas classics such as Last Christmas (Jordan Mailata’s voice is like butta), Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, Feliz Navidad & more! According to their website, all profits will be donated to Philadelphia Area Charities.

▶️ A Gift Guide by Lisa Eldridge – Do you really need another gift guide? Probably not. Is gift guide fatigue a thing? Because I think I might have it after seeing what feels like a million gift guides posted during the month of November. However! There is one gift guide I look forward to every year, and that’s Lisa Eldridge’s. I mean, come on, It’s Lisa Eldridge, a professional makeup artist and the global creative director for Lancome. Who doesn’t want to hear her talk about her top beauty gift recommendations for thirty minutes?!

💎 Bottega Veneta’s Matthieu Blazy on the House’s Debut Fine Jewelry Collection – I was flipping through last month’s Vogue when I saw this article about Matthieu Blazy’s first fine jewelry collection. The first thing that caught my eye were the gorgeous gold drop earrings, but it was Matthieu’s last words in the article that stayed with me long after I had finished the magazine, “I tell the team, ‘Don’t do anything that doesn’t evoke emotion–it has to make your heart pound.’” Here’s to finding beautifully captivating heart pounding moments this holiday season. ❤️

Thanks for reading!
