Rory Gilmore had just donned her newspaper hat and was preparing to spend the entire night proving herself to be a worthy reporter for the Yale Daily News when I got the idea to create this blog. I had been writing The Chapman Chronicles as a Substack newsletter for a little over a year when I started craving a place where I could have more creative control to play with color and design.

When I first created The Chapman Chronicles newsletter, I did it as a passion project to fulfill my childhood dream of being a writer. Though I have to admit, when childhood me pictured herself writing, she was wearing her mom’s blazer from the 80s (hello shoulder pads!), so never in her wildest dreams would she expect her reality to be her writing hunched over a laptop while wearing sweats. If I could go back and tell my younger self one thing, it would be that sweats are a much more comfortable outfit choice!

Now with my website/blog, I’m excited to have the space to strengthen another passion I’ve developed, graphic design. I have no professional experience, but I bought some books (lol). Bear with me, please.

Just like Rory, I still have a lot to learn. I still have a lot to prove. But I’m excited you’re here to go on this journey with me. *adjusts newspaper hat*
